I'm posting an original poem most Fridays for a year. This is 28/52. When I rode the city bus I'd write a haiku each day about it.

Bus Haiku # 12

"I fought in the war, you know,"

he said, the fare box

coughing down his coins.

Eleven nickels, five dimes.

David, Deb Switzer told me about your writings, I didn't know about your site. Good to know there is someone else at UUCL that writes (I have been taking classes at Carnegie Center for over 7 years and have tons of what I would call "vignettes" from childhood, horses, etc.) But I am working on a nonfiction book now (Life 2.0, directed at widows, something I know about!) so those storied will probably stay on my computer for a while. P.S loved your Haiku. So simple yet poignant.
